Enterprise's Trust in Hanoi University of Science and Technology Students

On June 17, at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the VINACOMIN School of Business Administration awarded scholarships from the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) to 30 outstanding students for the first semester of the 2025–2026 academic year. Not only recognizing the students' excellent academic achievements, the ceremony was also an opportunity for TKV to affirm its companionship with the University in training high-quality human resources, while expressing high expectations for the future generation of engineers trained at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

At the ceremony, 30 outstanding students from Hanoi University of Science and Technology received scholarships from the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group for the first semester of the 2025–2026 academic year. These are faces with outstanding academic achievements, demonstrating a spirit of continuous effort, a sense of responsibility, and a desire to excel in studying and research.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Huynh Dang Chinh - Vice President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, highly appreciated the companionship of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group with the University's students over the past years. According to the Vice President, the awarded scholarships not only provide material support but also demonstrate the enterprise's trust, sharing, and responsibility towards the younger generation.
  Assoc. Prof. Huynh Dang Chinh stated that, in the context of the strong development of science and technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence, students in engineering and technology majors are facing many career development opportunities. The companionship of large enterprises like TKV helps students gain more motivation to study, while creating conditions for them to access practical working environments and better understand the needs of the labor market.

TKV Places High Expectations on Human Resources from Hanoi University of Science and Technology

At the ceremony, Mr. Ngo Xuan Khoa – Principal of the VINACOMIN School of Business Administration, shared that the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group is currently one of the country's large industrial groups, with about 92,000 officials and employees and 65 member units.

TKV is operating in four key areas including coal mining; mineral mining and processing; power generation; and chemical and mechanical manufacturing. Among these, besides traditional fields such as coal, electricity, and mechanics, the Group is expanding operations in areas with great development potential like deep mineral processing, rare earths, and titanium.
  According to the TKV representative, to meet the development requirements in the new phase, building high-quality human resources right from training institutions is one of the Group's strategic goals. Hanoi University of Science and Technology has always been considered an important partner in TKV's human resource development process.

Mr. Ngo Xuan Khoa said that many leaders holding key positions at the Group today are alumni of Hanoi University of Science and Technology. From mining and mechanical enterprises to power generation units, the mark of engineers who matured from Hanoi University of Science and Technology is present in many important management positions.
Specifically, among the six power plants belonging to TKV, four directors are alumni of Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Many leaders at mechanical factories, mineral enterprises, and other member units of the Group were also trained at this leading technical university in the country.

"This is not only the pride of the University but also a testament to the capacity, bravery, and career development ability of Hanoi University of Science and Technology students in a large-scale industrial corporate environment," Mr. Ngo Xuan Khoa emphasized.

Congratulating the students receiving scholarships, Mr. Ngo Xuan Khoa considered the 30 students to be the "beautiful flowers" in the garden of knowledge of Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Each student honored today represents the spirit of overcoming difficulties, the aspiration for learning, and the unyielding will to rise of the young HUST generation.

The Need to Recruit Hundreds of Highly Skilled Personnel by 2030

One of the contents receiving much attention at the program was TKV's sharing about human resource needs in the coming years.

According to the Group's survey results, by 2030, TKV expects to need to recruit and newly train 641 high-level management and professional staff to meet development needs and replace the retiring workforce at member units.

Notably, the information technology field is one of the professions with the most urgent human resource needs. According to the Principal of the VINACOMIN School of Business Administration, the digital transformation process at TKV is being accelerated, leading to a great demand for a team of information technology, data, and automation engineers, as well as technology experts.

Currently, TKV is lacking about 100 high-quality personnel in the information technology field. To attract talent, the Group is building a separate remuneration mechanism for this workforce, which is expected to apply a higher salary scale compared to the general level of many other technical positions.

Several member units have implemented preferential policies for newly graduated information technology engineers to increase attractiveness in recruitment. This is considered a wide-open career opportunity for students of Hanoi University of Science and Technology in the fields of information technology, automation, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, energy, and mineral mining.

Representing the students receiving scholarships, Pham Van An, a K69 student of the School of Information and Communication Technology, expressed his honor to receive the scholarship from TKV.
  "We realize that this is not only a reward for our past efforts but also the trust and expectations of the University and the enterprise for today's generation of students. We will continue to study, train, promote the spirit of creativity, and constantly perfect ourselves to contribute to the country's development in the future," Pham Van An expressed his determination.

The 2026 scholarship award ceremony is not only an activity recognizing students' academic efforts but also continues to affirm the close cooperative relationship between Hanoi University of Science and Technology and the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group in training and developing human resources to serve the country's industrialization and modernization.
