Hanoi University of Science and Technology Joins Alliance to Develop the Capital's Semiconductor Ecosystem

On June 27, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, along with the Hanoi People's Committee, the Molecular Electronics Research Institute MERI (Russian Federation), G Group Joint Stock Company, and National Security Technology Joint Stock Company (NST), signed a Memorandum of Understanding on research, technology transfer, human resource training, and the development of the semiconductor ecosystem.

The memorandum establishes a cooperation framework to promote research, training, technology transfer, and the development of high-quality human resources in the semiconductor field, focusing on security chip technology, microelectronics, and related technologies, contributing to building technological autonomy capacity, ensuring cybersecurity, information safety, and developing the semiconductor industry in Vietnam.

According to the cooperation content, the parties will coordinate to research, design, and develop security chips; research the possibility of technology transfer in the fields of chip design, manufacturing, packaging, and testing; train engineers, experts, and seed lecturers; and concurrently research the construction of research infrastructure, laboratories, and R&D centers to serve the development of the semiconductor ecosystem in Hanoi.
  In this cooperative alliance, Hanoi University of Science and Technology plays the role of the training and research unit, presiding over the implementation of training and fostering programs for semiconductor human resources, while coordinating with partners in researching, receiving, and developing new technologies.

Meanwhile, MERI plays the role of an international technology partner, supporting research and technology transfer; G-Group mobilizes its team of engineers and corporate resources to participate in technology training and development; NST is the focal point for researching security chip applications in the security industry; and the Hanoi People's Committee researches and supports the formation and development of the semiconductor ecosystem in the Capital area according to its functions and authority.
  The signing took place in the context of Vietnam accelerating the development of the semiconductor industry and strategic technologies, with the goal of improving the capacity for research, design, mastery, and application of semiconductor technology. Through cooperation among management agencies, training institutions, international research institutes, and technology enterprises, the parties expect to gradually form a complete semiconductor ecosystem in Hanoi, promoting research, innovation, development of high-quality human resources, and commercialization of research results.

For Hanoi University of Science and Technology, this Memorandum of Understanding continues to affirm the University's pioneering role in training high-level technical human resources and developing the nation's strategic technology fields. At the same time, expanding cooperation with domestic and international partners will create more opportunities for lecturers, scientists, and students to participate in research, technology development, and innovation programs associated with the practical needs of enterprises and society.
