Student exchange programs are activities of receiving foreign students to visit, exchange relations or study short-time at HUST, and sending HUST students to visit, exchange relations or study short-time at counterpart universities within frameworks of HUST’s agreed documents and activities of university associations, of which HUST is a member.

At present, HUST is applying two forms of student exchange as follows:
1. Exchange under designed programs: A form of exchange in which students only participate in short-term visits, relation exchanges and study from 1 week to 3 months without receiving diplomas and/or certificates.
2. Credit exchange: A form of exchange in which students participate in some suitable modules from 1 week to 1 school-year. At the end of the exchange, students are granted certificates and/or diplomas for completed credits based on their learning results. With this type of exchange, HUST recognizes credits provided by prestigious counterpart universities to replace corresponding modules of HUST training programs.
