Study Opportunities in Germany for Hanoi University of Science and Technology Students

On April 13, Hanoi University of Science and Technology and the Private University of Business and Technology (PHWT - Germany) signed a memorandum of understanding in the fields of teaching, research, and academic exchange.

Specifically, each year, each institution will nominate 2 students majoring in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial), Mechatronics, Business, or Computer Science with B2 English or B2 German proficiency to participate in a study exchange for 1-2 semesters. Students participating in the exchange program under this Agreement will be exempt from tuition fees at the host university.

At the ceremony, Prof. Vu Van Yem, Vice President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, shared: “Although Hanoi University of Science and Technology is research-oriented, we also pay special attention to the application orientation to better meet the needs of society. We believe that knowledge must go hand in hand with practical experience; therefore, we always create opportunities for students to participate in domestic and international internships.”

Prof. Abraham van Veen, Vice President of the Private University of Business and Technology (PHWT), stated at the ceremony: “I highly value this wonderful opportunity to work with the leading university in science and technology in Vietnam. Founded in 1989, although still young, with our strengths, we truly look forward to cooperating with Hanoi University of Science and Technology in particular and Vietnam in general.”

Prof. Vu Van Yem emphasized: “We believe that this partnership, especially with PHWT's strong dual training model and close ties to the industry, will bring many valuable opportunities for HUST students in the coming years.”

At the same time, Hanoi University of Science and Technology is always ready to welcome students from PHWT to participate in exchange and internship programs. Over the past year, through PHWT's close relationships with industry partners, HUST students have had the opportunity to intern at businesses in Hai Phong, further proving the strong cooperation potential between the two universities.

In cooperation with PHWT, Hanoi University of Science and Technology also desires to establish and promote an advanced cooperation model, enhancing students' learning capacity through practical experience, especially by facilitating the University's students to intern at PHWT and German enterprises.

Every year, the University receives about 200 international students enrolled in engineering and technology programs taught in English, along with about 100 international students participating in research activities at laboratories. The majority of them come from the University's partner universities in Germany, showing that Hanoi University of Science and Technology is increasingly becoming an attractive destination for European students.

The cooperation agreement between Hanoi University of Science and Technology and the Private University of Business and Technology marks the beginning of an effective, sustainable, and long-term partnership between the two institutions in particular and the two countries, Vietnam and Germany, in general.
