On September 11, 2025 - Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Guilin University of Electronic Technology (GUET), marking a new chapter in international academic cooperation. The agreement opens up a suite of cooperations: International student exchanges, joint and dual-degree programs, faculty exchange, collaborative research, shared conferences, and more.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Huynh Dang Chinh, Vice President of HUST, remarked, “This partnership will not only enhance academic achievement and research quality, but also nurture generations of bachelor’s and engineering talents with global perspectives. By leveraging GUET’s strengths in information technology and electronics alongside HUST’s research and startup ecosystem, we have the potential to drive transformative impact in education, science, and society.”

Prof. Pan Kailin, Vice President of GUET, expressed strong confidence and high expectations for the collaboration. “I hope this MOU marks a promising beginning toward meaningful achievements for both of our institutions,” he said at the event.

The two universities also engaged in deeper discussions on joint research topics, faculty and student mobility programs, and future partnership potential. Both parties believe the agreement lays a solid foundation for practical, mutually beneficial cooperation in the coming years.
Guilin University of Electronic Technology is a public university focusing on electronic technology and information science. It also offers programs in management, literature, law, arts, and education. GUET is ranked among the top 4 key universities in electronics in China and is notable for its sizable laboratories specializing in microelectronics and optoelectronics.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology is one of Vietnam’s leading institutions in science and engineering. On March 25, 2025, Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Thanh Long signed Decision No. 663/QĐ‑TTg approving a plan to develop HUST into one of Asia’s premier universities in engineering and technology.

Through this partnership, HUST and GUET are poised to strengthen collaborative efforts in training, research, and innovation.
