Within the framework of the international Erasmus+ project “Bridging the Digital Divide between Mongolia and Vietnam through Digital Transformation in Higher Education Institutions (DIGITAL MOVE)”, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) has implemented a series of activities to support digital transformation in education, with a particular focus on the development of Blended Learning (B-learning) courses at the Center for Digital Transformation.

As part of the project, staff members of the Center for Digital Transformation participated in professional training programs, including a training course at the Technical University of Košice (TUKE), Slovakia, in January 2024, and a training program at NICE in June 2024. These training activities focused on updating models and methodologies for digital learning design, effective use of Learning Management Systems (LMS), and best practices in organizing blended learning in higher education environments. The programs have contributed to strengthening implementation capacity, standardizing processes, and disseminating good practices in the development of B-learning courses at the university.
Through the project, several courses have been reviewed and redesigned on HUST’s LMS platform, contributing to enhanced interactivity, stronger support for self-directed learning, and improved effectiveness in teaching management. Representative courses implemented under the B-learning model include: Soft Skills (ED3220), Applied Psychology (ED3280), Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (IT3160/IT4040Q), Engineering Mechanics 1 (ME2112E), and Introduction to Software Engineering (IT3180).
By the end of the 2024–2025 academic year, HUST introduced 22 new courses delivered under the B-learning model, representing a 100% increase compared to the 2023–2024 academic year. To date, HUST has 124 courses eligible for delivery in the B-learning format (an increase of 22 courses, equivalent to 21% year-on-year), with 809 classes organized under this model (an increase of 239 classes, equivalent to 39%). The total number of learner participations reached 59,114, an increase of 17,990 (approximately 44%) compared to the 2023–2024 academic year.
These results reflect the significant efforts of the staff of the Center for Digital Transformation and the academic faculty in developing digital learning resources, organizing teaching activities, and implementing blended learning. This progress contributes to meeting the digital learning resource criteria stipulated in Circular No. 01/2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training on the Standards for Higher Education Institutions, while also establishing a strong foundation for expanding and enhancing the quality of education in the context of comprehensive digital transformation.
DIGITAL MOVE is an Erasmus+ project that advances digital transformation in Mongolian and Vietnamese universities by promoting innovative teaching and learning, strengthening digital skills, and sharing good practices across institutions, processes, individuals, and communities—ultimately bridging the digital divide and reducing the risk of social exclusion. The consortium includes 13 universities: 4 from Mongolia (CITI University; Mongolian University of Life Sciences; Otoch Manramba University; Erdenet Institute of Technology), 2 from Europe (Université Côte d’Azur, France; Technical University of Košice, Slovakia), and 7 from Vietnam (Tay Nguyen University; University of Danang; Nha Trang University; Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Can Tho University; Quy Nhon University; University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City).
