Two parties took a photo at the MoU on July 25
On July 25, HUST signed an MoU and discussed collaboration in undergraduate and graduate training program with Seoul Media Institute of Technology (SMIT), South Korea.
Arcording the MoU, the 2 parties will cooperate in activities: Jointly program in Bachelor and Master in the fields of Business, Cybersecurity, Korea-Culture, and Korean Language Education; Short-term graduate student exchange programs, including students both to and from the either institutions, exempting exchange students from tuition fees at their site of
study; Exchange of faculty, researchers for academic and research purposes; Collaboration in joint research projects, scientific publications, and academic events such asconferences and symposia; Search venues in which both parties could provide scholarship to the exchange
students.
SMIT proposed three possible models of collaboration: (1) a 4+1 combined undergraduate-graduate program,(2) a 1+1 dual degree graduate program, and (3) short-term certification or microdegree programs in fields like media, content business, and Korean language education.
Students who participate in these programs have chances to Access to cutting-edge education in the heart of Korea’s Digital Media City (DMC); Opportunity to obtain a Master’s degree within a short period; Employment advantages, including diverse industry experiences in Korea and settlement programs.

We are very grateful to cooperate with the University. I hope this cooperation will have good results and be a good start for our relationship.”
At the MoU, HUST President Assoc. Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang expected that HUST students would get competitive scholarships and have unrestricted growth prospects at SMIT in particular and Korea in general.

Seoul Media Institute of Technology (SMIT) was founded in 2009 by Professor Wolfgang Hermann, President of the Technical University of Munich, and the Association of German Universities. SMIT is strong in highly applicable research such as Media, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, Virtual Reality (VR), AR, FinTech, Internet, and Robotics. The training programs are built according to German standards, suitable for teaching in Korea.
