HUST Strengthens Cooperation with Russian Partners for the Benefit of Both Nations

On September 16, 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) welcomed and held a working session with a delegation of leaders and managers from the Russian Federation and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics. The meeting aimed to enhance exchange and cooperative ties between HUST and its Russian partners, focusing on international experience in applying modern technology to public administration, and generating new ideas and initiatives to elevate the strategic partnership in Education, Science, and Technology, thereby contributing to the development of the friendship between Vietnam and Russia.

Opening the program, Assoc. Prof. Huỳnh Quyết Thắng, President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, shared: "Today, facing new developmental demands, especially in the context of digital transformation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, cooperation in education and scientific research between Vietnam and the Russian Federation has become even more urgent and strategically significant. Hanoi University of Science and Technology wishes to join our Russian partners in promoting comprehensive cooperation in training, research, innovation, and technology transfer, while also expanding initiatives to connect the community of alumni who studied in Russia to continue this valuable tradition. We aim to continue expanding cooperation in high-quality human resource training and to advance joint research in strategic technologies."

The HUST President also expressed his confidence that: "With the attention and guidance of the leaders of both our states, the support of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and the close collaboration of educational and research institutions, the Vietnam-Russia cooperative relationship in Education, Science, and Technology will continue to grow stronger and more sustainable. This will actively contribute to the development of each nation while strengthening the traditional friendly relations between our two peoples."

Ms. Natalia Shafinskaia, Head of the Department for International Cooperation and Development at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, stated at the meeting: "I know that Hanoi University of Science and Technology is one of Vietnam's leading higher education institutions in research, science, and technology. I am confident that through today's program, Russian officials will gain valuable experience and apply it to their professional careers."

During the session, the parties engaged in a lively discussion on cooperation in training, scientific research, innovation, and digital transformation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

At the conclusion of the program, the visiting delegation toured the Information Center for Atomic Energy (ICONE), the AI for Life Institute (AI4LIFE), and the School of Economics and Management at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

To date, the Russian Federation has trained over 300 lecturers and scientists for Hanoi University of Science and Technology in core science, engineering, and technology fields. It has also supported over 100 laboratories and research facilities in various disciplines, provided teaching materials, and assisted in developing engineering training programs throughout HUST's nearly 70-year history.

This program is part of a series of events commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, serving as an occasion for all parties to reminisce and look forward to future cooperation with Russian partners. The event is a testament to the strong, forward-looking cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in the fields of Education, Science, and Technology.
