HUST Teams up with Altius Link Vietnam in Training and Scientific Research
On August 18, HUST signed an MoU with Altius Link Vietnam (a branch in Vietnam of Altius Link - a joint venture between KDDI and MITSUI & Co) to promote and strengthen the collaborative activities in human resource training, research, innovation, and business development in the future.
 
Overview of the event on August 18
At the working session with Altius Link Vietnam, Associate Professor Huynh Quyet Thang, HUST President, stressed the importance of fostering the development of top-notch human resources for the Japanese labor market and Japanese businesses in Vietnam. In order to conduct market-oriented applied research projects based on real-world issues raised by Japanese businesses, he anticipates that Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Japanese companies would establish a joint laboratory.

HUST President shared: “Many HUST alumni have been working in large enterprises in Japan. With our excellent students and lecturers, we consider Japan as one of the potential partner in developing scientific research and technology. Today's signing is just the beginning of long-term cooperation between both parties.”

Altius Link Vietnam is the Vietnam branch of Altius Link, one of Japan’s leading BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) companies, jointly owned by KDDI and Mitsui. Established in 2009, Altius Link Vietnam has been delivering high-quality BPO services, particularly to Japanese clients, and providing customer support services for foreign-invested companies operating in the Vietnamese market, contributing to the business development of both Japan and Vietnam.

Altius Link Vietnam is a member of MITSUI & Co. Mitsui is one of the largest global trading and investment companies in Japan with a network spanning 62 countries with 124 offices and a diversified business portfolio: Energy and Resources, Machinery & Infrastructure, Chemicals, Wellness, Mobility, Nutrition & Agriculture, Retail & ICT Services. Mitsui established office in Vietnam in 1991- one of the very first foreign companies to enter Vietnam. 

Currently, the company is actively involved in one of the key national projects in Vietnam – “Block B Gas field development project”. The company also engaged in importing and exporting raw materials for manufacturing industries, agriculture, etc. and closely working with local partners to drive innovation and expansion through investment and trading activities.

HUST and Altius Link Vietnam would cooperate in the activities: Exchange of scientific knowledge and technical assistance; Exchange visit programs for technical and academic staff of both Parties; Promotion of joint laboratories and joint projects including the Research on AI applications and automation of BPO operations; Promotion of internship programs, career orientation and job recruitment for HUST students; Organizing joint seminars, workshops, conferences, technical meetings required; Providing sponsorship and academic and/or practical lectures, seminars and other programs. 

Besides, Altius Link Vietnam, together with the Institute for Research and Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI4LIFE), Hanoi University of Science and Technology, signed a service contract to jointly implement the project "Research on application and automation of BPO activities of Altius Link VN Company based on the application of Artificial Intelligence models. 

In addition, AI4LIFE Institute will support Altius Link Company in recruiting 02 interns to directly participate in the joint research project. Altius Link Vietnam Company commits to providing 01 research instructor and supporting interns to participate in the research topic. The project is expected to be implemented within 8 months from the date of signing.
