From February 12 to 14, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) is undergoing an external quality assurance by the Agency for Quality Assurance through Accreditation of Study Programs (AQAS) for three programs in the School of Mechanical Engineering: Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics (in collaboration with Leibniz University Hannover, Germany), and Manufacturing Technology (in partnership with Griffith University, Australia).

The delegation was led by Ronny Heintze, Deputy Director for International Development, along with experts from Germany and Vietnam. The team conducted site visits, reviewed documents, and interviewed university leaders, faculty, students, alumni, and employers.

As a member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), AQAS enhances credit transfer, international exchange, and global career opportunities for students. The accreditation process follows the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG) framework, assessing seven key areas: curriculum quality, quality assurance processes, teaching and assessment, admissions and degree recognition, faculty, student resources, and transparency.

Mr. Heintze praised the thorough preparation and collaboration by HUST, highlighting a successful review process that strengthens future partnerships. The delegation will now compile a report with assessments and recommendations for improvement.

In February and March, HUST will continue AQAS external quality assurance for programs in IT, economics, chemistry, life sciences, and education.
