This afternoon (March 26), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a speech at the launch ceremony of the Digital Literacy for All initiative and introduced the digital platform at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST).

Addressing the audience, the Prime Minister outlined Vietnam’s vision for a fully digital nation, encompassing a digital economy, society, and citizenship. He emphasized that achieving digital citizenship requires a nationwide movement driven by determination and inclusivity, ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital transformation process.

“It’s not easy… but challenges are exactly why we need HUST,” he remarked, expressing confidence that HUST will take the lead in this initiative by providing technological solutions and inspiring digital transformation efforts. He also recalled how generations of students have long dreamed of passing through the iconic Parabol Gate of HUST to become part of the university’s legacy.

Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang, President of HUST, affirmed the university’s commitment to mobilizing all available resources to implement the movement effectively. “HUST faculty and students will be the vanguard of the Digital Literacy for All initiative,” he stated.

At the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with senior officials and delegates, officially launched the Digital Literacy for All initiative and introduced the digital platform at https://binhdanhocvuso.gov.vn. This is a true HUST product — designed by Vietnamese, for Vietnamese, developed  in collaboration with the Police Bureau for Administrative Management of Social Order, Ministry of Public Security.

Previously, on March 25, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long signed Decision No. 663/QD-TTg, approving the development plan for HUST to become a leading higher education institution in Asia.

The plan aims to transform HUST into a modern university excelling in engineering and technology, serving as a hub for talent development, research, and innovation. HUST will play a key role in Vietnam’s higher education system, particularly in strategic technology and industrial sectors, including AI, cybersecurity, blockchain, semiconductors, robotics, energy, biotechnology, and advanced materials.

By 2035, HUST aims to be Vietnam’s top research and innovation center in science, engineering, and technology, ranking among Asia’s top 100–150 universities. By 2045, the university aspires to be among Asia’s top 100 universities in engineering and technology, recognized globally for their contributions to science, technology, and innovation.
