On 28/08/2024, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Kagawa prefecture (Japan), and their Foreign Human Resources Acceptance Promotion Council, aiming at developing the partnership between HUST and Japan in the training of skilled workers.
According to the terms of the MoU, Kagawa prefecture will offer Japanese courses and programs for students of HUST who wish to work or study abroad in Japan. In addition to the opportunity to improve their linguistic skills and expand their knowledge of Japanese culture, students will also be provided with comprehensive material to prepare for the work culture within Japanese businesses.
At the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang, President of HUST, expressed his utmost pleasure with this advancement in the partnership between the university and Kagawa prefecture. “We are proud to be a trustworthy source of skilled workers for Japanese businesses. The rising number of HUST alumni who reside in Japan is evident of their capacity and integrity,” said Assoc. Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang.
Representing Kagawa prefecture, Vice Governor Satoshi Oyama maintained: “Today, we are not only making a vow to partner with HUST, but also to ensure the future of the students. Together with the university, we will do our best to meet the objectives stated in the MoU.”
This is not the first time HUST has partnered up with Japanese universities and businesses in education, research and employment. In 2022, HUST collaborated with Anabuki Group, Kagawa prefecture, Japan to offer free Japanese courses for graduates looking for job opportunities in Japan. In January 2024, following the Joint Statement on the Elevation of the Japan-Vietnam Relations to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, delegations from the Department of Trade, Industry and Labor of Kagawa prefecture met with HUST to discuss cooperating in training high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of businesses.
