On May 31, students at HUST hosted an exciting series of events, including the 2025 International Cultural Exchange Week, the Cohort 69 Freshmen Camp, and Student Volunteer Day. The celebrations drew enthusiastic participation from students across the university, especially international students, creating a vibrant space for cultural exchange, community building, and volunteer spirit.
International Culture Exchange Week is one of the most anticipated annual events at HUST. This year, it returned on a larger scale, combining with the Cohort 69 Freshman Camp and the Student Volunteer Festival. More than just a cultural celebration, the event continues to be a vibrant platform that connects diverse cultures and fosters unity, creativity, and skill development in a globally minded learning environment.
Held from May 19 to 31, the week offered a dynamic lineup of activities, including cultural exhibitions, themed talks, international film screenings, and interactive experiences. It gave both Vietnamese and international students the chance to explore and celebrate global cultures right on campus, where learning goes hand in hand with experience, creativity, and connection. Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Vu Van Yem, Vice President of HUST, highlighted the educational value of the International Culture Exchange Week. “This is not just a space for connection, but also a meaningful co-curricular environment where students can grow and strengthen essential skills. We hope this experience inspires students to embrace creative thinking, social responsibility, and the journey toward becoming global citizens,” he said.
Prof. Yem also emphasized the broader role of the event, calling it “a strong foundation for intercultural exchange and an important bridge connecting international organizations and businesses with the university and its students.” Japanese cultural booth at HUST International Cultural Exchange Week.
This year’s International Cultural Exchange Week became even more vibrant with the participation of embassies from Japan, South Korea, France, Myanmar, Laos, and Belgium. Cultural booths from countries like Laos, India, Germany, and France, alongside Vietnamese traditions, transformed the campus into a “mini global village” where students could learn, connect, and experience international cultures firsthand.
