This morning (October 27), the STEAMese Festival 2024 was held at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), attracting nearly 8,500 students, parents, and teachers to engage in various Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics activities. The event was co-organized by STEAM for Vietnam, UNICEF Vietnam, the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam, the Scratch Foundation, and HUST.
Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Assoc. Prof. Hoang Minh Son, emphasized the importance of technology in improving quality of life and the need for educators to prepare students for the future. He stated that equipping young people with skills to master technology is essential for effective learning and career development.
“We are pleased to see that the mission of STEAM/STEM now involves collaboration with various organizations, forming effective movements that contribute significantly to Vietnam's education,” Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son remarked.
Experts noted that advancements in technology are grounded in foundational sciences like mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Through engaging STEAM education, students not only develop an interest in these subjects but also learn more effectively through hands-on experiences, creativity, and problem-solving, shaping their future career paths.
At the event held in the C7 building at HUST, parents and students participated in STEAM activities, including the Programming Maze, the Artificial Intelligence Kingdom, and the Robotics City. These challenges aimed to inspire problem-solving skills, creativity, and teamwork essential for a sustainable future while helping students build confidence to tackle global challenges.

Assoc. Prof. Huynh Dang Chinh, Vice President of HUST, noted that the university is dedicated to being a leading institution in science and technology, focusing on talent development and innovative research.
HUST will continue to collaborate with various organizations to implement STEM activities and robotics programs, promoting scientific and technical engagement in the community and preparing future global citizens.
