To mark “World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims”, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) held multiple activities to spread awareness about traffic safety.
On October 27, 2005, the UN General Assembly designated the third Sunday of November each year as the “World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims”. This year, it falls on Sunday, November 17.
In line with Plan No. 294/KH-UBATGTQG (October 21, 2024) by the National Traffic Safety Committee and guidelines from the Ministry of Education and Training, HUST has actively contributed to reducing accidents and fostering a culture of road safety. The efforts include raising awareness of traffic laws, promoting accident prevention, and emphasizing the responsibility of authorities.
Notably, in October, the university collaborated with TotalEnergies Vietnam in hosting the “Helmet 4 Life” event. Recent past events include “Joining Hands for Traffic Safety”, “Vietnam Traffic Safety Initiatives”, and the Vehicle Safety Seminar.
Under the theme of “Adhering to the Law to Build a Culture of Safe Traffic”, Vietnam marked its 13th year of global remembrance activities. These activities honor victims, support their families, and raise youth awareness about the irreplaceable value of a safe life.
“HUST prioritizes not only academic knowledge but also social values and community responsibility. These efforts aim to drive positive change and contribute to a safer traffic culture,” shared Assoc. Prof. Huynh Dang Chinh, Vice President of HUST.
