On November 15, the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the Faculty of Education at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) co-organized the 2024 International Conference on Educational Science and Foreign Language Teaching (ICEF). The hybrid event, conducted both in person and online via Microsoft Teams, brought together over 200 delegates, including leading experts, educators, and students from Vietnam and abroad.
This year’s theme, Empowering Global Citizens through Multilingual, Multicultural Competence, and Educational Excellence: Innovations, Challenges, and Opportunities, underscores the urgent need to equip learners with cross-cultural and multilingual communication skills in an increasingly globalized world. The conference aimed to celebrate cultural diversity, promote innovative language teaching methods, and foster a deeper understanding of international cultures.
In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Dien, Vice President of HUST, stated: “The ICEF 2024 provides an international forum to discuss recent research findings, exchange knowledge, and share teaching experiences - especially in foreign language and STEM subjects. It aims to address practical issues and shape future research directions in related fields.”
The conference program featured 65 high-quality papers from institutions worldwide, with three keynote presentations by prominent scholars:
