On May 23, the Taiwanese Businessman Association for Education in Vietnam awarded scholarships worth 380 million VND to 23 outstanding graduate students from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), marking the third consecutive year of the initiative.
At the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Dien, Vice President of HUST, thanked the Taiwanese Businessman Association for Education in Vietnam for supporting the university’s graduate students and expressed hope for continued scholarship programs. He also called for ongoing support from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in fostering partnerships with Taiwanese universities and businesses in education, research, and technology transfer. Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Dien shares that the scholarship program inspired HUST to launch a new major in Chinese for Science and Technology.
At the ceremony, Mr. Su Chien Yuan, Chairman of the Taiwanese Businessman Association for Education in Vietnam, expressed his deep appreciation for HUST and affirmed the Association’s commitment to supporting education in Vietnam. He also highlighted the importance of lifelong learning and affirmed that supporting graduate students of HUST is a meaningful contribution to education and academic excellence. Speaking in Vietnamese, Mr. Su Chien Yuan emphasized: “We hope our scholarship efforts will increasingly contribute to education and talent development for a strong and prosperous Vietnam.” Leaders of HUST, graduate students and representatives of the Taiwanese Businessman Association for Education in Vietnam commemorate the award with a photo.
On behalf of the scholarship recipients, PhD candidate Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, HUST, expressed heartfelt thanks to the Taiwanese Businessman Association for Education in Vietnam and HUST faculty.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology continues to invest in graduate education, allocating 3-4 billion VND annually for scholarships and partnering with various organizations and businesses to support student research and innovation.
