HUST Hosts the 2024 NUC Basketball

On November 18, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) hosted the opening ceremony of the 2024 National University Championship - NUC Basketball at Bach Khoa Gymnasium. This annual event celebrates university basketball and marks the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982–2024).

This year's championship features 75 men's and women's teams from 48 universities and colleges, competing until November 27.

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Dien, Vice President of HUST and Head of the 2024 NUC Basketball Organizing Committee, stated: “The 2024 NUC Basketball not only helps spread the movement ‘All people exercise to follow great Uncle Ho's example’, but also improves students' physical fitness and development. Additionally, the championship encourages basketball practice and helps identify and nurture sports talents for universities, regions, and the nation.”
 

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Tran Van Lam, Deputy Director of the Physical Education Department, Ministry of Education and Training, handed over the hosting flag to HUST. Representatives of referees and athletes took oaths to compete with the spirit of “Sportsmanship, Integrity, and Nobility”, adhering to the rules and dedicating their full effort to the success of the 2024 NUC Basketball.
