On November 23, the 2024 HUST Freshers’ Day drew significant attention from students of Cohort 69. The event featured engaging activities, experience-sharing talk shows, and the spectacular HUST FEST music gala night—a special gift to warmly welcome the newest members of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST).
Assoc. Prof. Huynh Dang Chinh, Vice President of HUST, welcomed the new students: “After three months of officially joining HUST, students of Cohort 69 need a milestone to mark their growth. In addition to studying and gaining knowledge, you must also develop soft skills and cultural understanding to prepare for greater challenges ahead. The HUST Freshers’ Day was created to help freshmen connect with others and further explore themselves.”
With the theme “Aurora” - the vibrant colors of the northern lights, each student is a unique light, shining together in the universe of HUST. The aurora represents not only individual achievements but also the collective bond of the community.
This year's event featured a variety of activities, including a photo booth, the “Scavenger Hunt” game, a soft skills talk show, the “Stellar Bach Khoa” performance, and the 2024 HUST FEST music gala, which attracted a massive following.
“The format of the event is always evolving. This year, we invited many student groups, each representing the unique identity and colors of their respective schools and faculties, to come together and create a vibrant aurora for HUST,” shared Dr. Truong Cong Tuan, Secretary of the HUST Youth Union.
Nguyen Dang Nam Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, President of the Student Association, School of Economics and Management (SEM), said: “This year, the SEM Youth Union - Student Association booth made an impression with games related to both economics and the event's theme. We also prepared drinks and coconut jelly to serve and make the experience enjoyable for the freshmen!”
Nguyen Hai Nam, a Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering freshman, along with new friends who he just met at the check-in booth, shared: “My first three months at HUST have been amazing, with great support and new experiences. This is my first time fully immersing in a festival for freshmen. I’ve been eagerly waiting for this event and it definitely lived up to my expectations!”
