HUST in a new situation: Presented with many opportunities and challenges

On November 18, during a meeting with educators and administrators, General Secretary To Lam highlighted three key issues for higher education:
  • Align with the country's goals of rapid and sustainable development, driven by science & technology, innovation, digital transformation, and green transition.
  • Foster a close connection between teaching and research, with educators being scientists.
  • Shift towards teaching skills, learning methods, and critical thinking.

Addressing the arising issues in education, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said: “As challenges grow and changes accelerate, education must focus on reinforcing fundamental knowledge. The foundation of education lies in love, honesty, and kindness, along with the new skills required in today’s world.”

In response, Assoc. Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang delivered a straightforward and insightful analysis of the university's opportunities, challenges, and responsibilities in the new situation. He affirmed HUST’s commitment to human development, high-quality education, scientific research, technological innovation and knowledge transfer for the betterment of our nation and society.
