On November 23, the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VNRC) launched the 2024 Humanitarian Strength Program at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST). As part of the “Tet of Kindness” initiative, the program aims to raise resources for those in need during the 2025 Lunar New Year. The event also kicked off the “Millions of Kind Steps – Continuing the Golden History” campaign.
In her opening speech, Mrs. Bui Thi Hoa, President of VNRC, highlighted the significant contributions of Red Cross staff, members, volunteers, and other humanitarian workers, stressing their commitment to core principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.
Following the launch, nearly 600 delegates, staff, members, and volunteers of the Hanoi Red Cross, alongside students, staff and faculty from HUST, participated in the “Millions of Kind Steps – Continuing the Golden History” campaign.
The campaign, hosted on the online sports platform vRace, will run from November 23, 2024, to April 28, 2025, including three phases: Kickoff, Breakthrough, and Finish. The goal is to attract 200,000 participants to walk or run a total of 5 million kilometers and raise 5 billion VND.
Individuals, teams, and organizations can sign up and contribute at least 100 kilometers, showing their love and responsibility toward society. Every step in the campaign does not only promote physical activity but also directly contribute to humanitarian efforts, supporting those in need.
