Epic Finale of the 2024 NUC Basketball - Northern Region

On the morning of November 27, the Closing Ceremony of the 2024 National University Championship (NUC) Basketball - Northern Region was held at the Bach Khoa Gymnasium, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST). This year, HUST served as the host of the tournament.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Environment, Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism; Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Dien, Vice President of HUST and Head of the 2024 NUC Basketball Organizing Committee; representatives from universities fielding basketball teams; event sponsors; coaches, trainers, athletes, and a vibrant crowd of enthusiastic fans.

In his closing remarks, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Dien emphasized: “The athletes experienced both victory and defeat, but above all, we together created a meaningful and enriching platform for the university basketball community to connect, learn, and foster solidarity among Northern region students.”
 

The 20-day competition (November 11-27) saw battles between 75 men's and women's teams from 48 universities, with the championship title going to two deserving teams: University of Economics and Business - Vietnam National University, Hanoi (Men’s Division) and Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports (Women’s Division).
 

The title of Most Valuable Player this year went to Mau Thi Nhu Quynh (Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports) and Nguyen Anh Hao (University of Economics and Business - Vietnam National University, Hanoi).

Following the 2024 NUC Basketball - Northern Region, the women’s teams from Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports and Hanoi National University of Education, along with the men’s teams from HUST, University of Transport and Communications, and University of Economics and Business - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, will advance to the national finals in December in Ho Chi Minh City.
