On December 2, at Sekisho Group's headquarters in Ibaraki, Japan, PGS. Huỳnh Quyết Thắng, President of HUST, and Mr. Masaki Seki, CEO of Sekisho Group, signed the 2025 Sponsorship Agreement and a memorandum to establish a Japanese Cultural Space at HUST.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang, President of HUST, expressed gratitude for Sekisho Group's support and partnership over the years. “We hope that more HUST students will work and achieve greater success in Japanese enterprises and Japan in general,” he said.
Masaki Seki, President of Sekisho Group, highlighted the impact of the Sekisho Job Fair. “Through this program, hundreds of HUST students have come to Japan to work and have made significant contributions to Japanese businesses,” Mr. Seki stated.
In celebration of the 70th anniversary of HUST (October 15, 1956 – October 15, 2026), Sekisho Group officially sponsored 10 million yen for the establishment of a Japanese cultural space at the university.
Since 2016, Sekisho Group and HUST have fostered a productive partnership, implementing various student support programs, including career orientation, employment, Japanese language training, soft skills development, and sports activities.
The 11th Sekisho Job Fair, held on November 2–3, 2024, drew nearly 2,500 visits of students participated. Among 555 students participating in interviews, 200 advanced to subsequent rounds, and over 100 are expected to secure jobs in Japan.
Every year, hundreds of students have received scholarships for Japanese language courses. Additionally, the "10,000 Steps a Day" challenge, sponsored by Sekisho, has attracted thousands of staff and students.
During the business trip, the delegation led by Assoc. Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang visited FORGETEC KAWABE CO., LTD and met with HUST alumni working there.
Mariko Kawabe, the company’s Director, praised HUST’s training quality and highlighted the diligence, determination, and sincerity of their students. She proudly shared the achievements of HUST alumni, notably Phan Minh Quyet (a cohort 60 student of Materials Engineering), who achieved first place in a technical competition in Ibaraki Prefecture.
