On October 15th 2016, at C2 Great Hall, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) solemnly organized its 60th Anniversary (1956 – 2016) and honorably received the Ho Chi Minh Order for the second time.
Attending the Ceremony were the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, governmental officers, leaders from domestic organizations, and representatives from various international universities, companies, governmental organizations and networks. Speaking at the ceremony, State President Tran Dai Quang recognized the university’s efforts in improving quality of education and training, and extolled its pioneering role in research and technology transfer. On the fundamental and comprehensive educational reform, HUST also took the leadbya wide range of renovations related to education management, developing teaching staff, designing curriculum and training activities which are in line with the requirements of the process of industrialization, modernization and international integration of Vietnam. For those great achievements and contributions in Education, Research and Technology Transfer, HUST was honored to receive the Ho Chi Minh Order for the second time.

During 60 years of foundation and developmentof HUST, the university has trained over 180,000 technical experts, including over 13,000 masters and 800 doctors. HUST now has 1,950 staffs including 1,200 lecturers and has 122 undergraduate and post-graduate training programs.
One day prior to the Ceremony, HUST had hosted its 60th Anniversary Gala dinner at Melia Hotel Hanoi to express the gratitude and appreciation for partner’s valuable support and cooperation. During Gala dinner, HUST had granted “the Recognition Award for Outstanding Contribution” to one organization and eleven professors and experts, who had been significantly dedicating to HUST’s development. HUST President, Prof. Hoang Minh Son asserted that it was the international cooperation and precious support from partners that laid a firm base to bring HUST towards the International Training and Research Standard.

The 60th Founding Anniversary of Hanoi University of Science and Technology marks the process of the establishment and development of the University over more than a half century with vitally important progress in research and training. In the upcoming time, the management board and all staff of HUST determine to make the university an attractive address for industrial investors, a lifelong home for excellent staffs and a cradle for students to pursue knowledge while enjoying excellent academic atmosphere and recognized qualifications.
