March 30, 2021, the School of Transportation Engineering, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), and Toyota Motor Vietnam organized a workshop on efficiency evaluation of Hybrid technology when it is applied to Vietnam conditions.

Speaking on behalf of HUST, Professor Le Anh Tuan - Dean of School of Transportation Engineering remarked: “I highly appreciate the cooperation between universities and enterprises. This particular collaborative project focused on offering a detailed evaluation on the effect of hybrid vehicles when it is used in Vietnam conditions. I firmly believe that this project is significant for the development of electrified vehicles, which contribute to reducing air pollution and saving resources in Vietnam”.

The project was carried out from October to December 2020 in Hanoi. Multiple tests were applied for this evaluation such as tests on actual roads, on laboratory, and on test grounds. Using Kistler’s measuring equipment - the world's leading company in measuring technology and is trusted by many car manufacturers for the evaluation purpose of this project, the research results showed advantages of Toyota Corolla Cross 1.8HV comparing with  1.8V version. The Toyota Corolla Cross 1.8HV appears to be fuel-efficient, has low emissions while the acceleration of the Hybrid is suitable for urban driving situations.

Toyota Motor Vietnam wishes to continue their cooperation with Hanoi University of Science and Technology for other research projects in the future.
