The 6th IFToMM Asian Mechanisms and Machine Science Conference

The 6th IFToMM Asian Mechanisms and Machine Science Conference (AMMS2021) is conducted online on December 15-18, 2021, at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi, Vietnam

This conference is organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology (host), Le Quy Don Technical University, National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering (NARIME), and Vietnam Association of Dynamics and Control (VADC) - member of the Vietnam Mechanics Association. The conference was also partly supported by the Vingroup Innovation Fund (VINIF), the Big Data Research Institute.

The conference aims to bring researchers, engineers and students from Asian countries but also the world at large to present the most recent developments and new information on any aspect of mechanism and machine science.

Despite the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference attracted a large number of researchers from many countries, not only from Asia. The conference took place successfully in a difficult period, demonstrating the spirit of close cooperation of IFToMM member countries.

This year, the topics of AMMS include Mechanism Design and Theory, Machine and Robot Design, Gearing and Transmissions, Actuators and Sensors, Dynamics and Control of Multibody Systems, Vibration Techniques, Biomechanics, Micro and Nano Systems, and Mechatronics.

Papers submitted to the Conference are reviewed based on 4 key criteria as follows: originality, significance, quality, and clarity, before being selected for online presentation at the Conference session.

Besides participants from Vietnam, there are many participants from other IFToMM communities such as China, India, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Serbia, South Korea, Taipei, Turkey. At the plenary session, 4 keynotes were presented by famous professors come from Italy, Japan, Russia, and Vietnam.

The first conference on Asian Mechanism and Machine Science, in short, Asian MMS started in Taipei in 2010 as an initiative of IFToMM, the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (MMS), as a specific forum for Asiatic communities to promote better relations and dissemination of MMS activities in Asia. Then following events were held successfully in Tokyo in 2012, in Tianjin in 2014, in Guangzhou in 2016, and in Bengaluru in 2018.
