HUST promotes cooperation with Northern European partners

August 28th – September 04th, 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Minh Son, HUST President visited three countries (Finland, Denmark, Sweden) for further cooperation opportunities in the field of education during the accompanying trip of Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training in Northern Europe.

During the trip of MOET delegation and other Vietnamese universities led by Minister of Education and Training, Mr. Phung Xuan Nha, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Minh Son, HUST President visited Embassies, Ministries of Education, other related Ministries, and universities and training institutions in 3 Northern European countries.

In his working visit trip, the President effectively met and exchanged with the partner universities, new HEIs, R&D institutes and industries which have potentials in bilateral and multilateral cooperation  in future.On August 28, 2017, in signing ceremony of 18 other Vietnamese universities in Finland, Hanoi University of Science and Technology officially signed an MOU with Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) aiming at creating more research opportunities in the field of energy and environment.

During the visit to Sweden, as one of the long-time partner in the Erasmus Mundus (Lotus project) and Erasmus + scholarship program, HUST officially signed  a new general agreement with Uppsala University in order to focus more on double degree training program cooperation and student, staff exchange prioritizing for ELITECH program development on September 1, 2017.

Uppsala University is a leading research and first-class education institution in Sweden, both universities sent and received more than 10 academic staff, students who exchanged, studied academics and research from both sides’ mobility. One of the great achievements of this exchange is to bring back a new in-depth exchange programs, and further promoting cooperation in ELITECH model at HUST.

It is hoped that after the President’s visit, HUST will open more opportunities for cooperation with universities, industries and training organizations in Northwestern European countries.
